The rate plan name — something like "Standard Room, Non-Refundable" or "Deluxe King, Breakfast Included, Free Cancellation" — is the single most useful line for comparing against a different price later, since it defines exactly what's being compared: not just a room type, but the specific terms attached to it.
The cancellation deadline is often stated as a specific date and time, sometimes in the hotel's local timezone rather than the traveler's home timezone, buried a few lines below the headline booking details. It's worth locating this line specifically rather than assuming a general "24 hours before check-in" rule applies universally.
Total price versus nightly rate is worth double-checking too — some confirmations lead with the nightly rate and show the multi-night total further down, or vice versa, and misreading which number is which is an easy way to misjudge whether a comparison price is actually better or worse.
