Two listings that both say "Deluxe Room" at the same hotel, on two different platforms, aren't guaranteed to be the same physical room category. Hotels sometimes use slightly different naming conventions across distribution channels, or allocate a specific subset of rooms — a particular floor, a particular view — to one platform's inventory and a different subset to another's.
The room name itself is the least reliable signal. Square footage, bed configuration, and the specific amenities listed (balcony, view type, bathtub versus shower-only) are much better indicators of whether two listings genuinely describe the same physical space, and they're usually visible somewhere on the room-detail page even when the marketing name differs.
Photos help but aren't definitive either — many hotels reuse a small set of representative photos across all similar room categories rather than photographing every individual room, so two listings can show identical images while still representing different specific rooms within that category.
When in doubt, the room's exact size in square meters or square feet, alongside the specific bed configuration, is the closest thing to a reliable fingerprint for confirming two listings are actually the same product before deciding one platform is offering a better deal on it.
